Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Area

The Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs Natural Area, located between Nerja (Málaga) and Almuñécar (Granada), is a coastal enclave of outstanding ecological and scenic value. Covering approximately 1,814 hectares, it features dramatic cliffs rising up to 75 metres, secluded coves and a rich marine ecosystem. The area is part of the Natura 2000 network and has been designated as a Specially Protected Area of Mediterranean Importance (SPAMI), highlighting its environmental significance along southern Spain’s coastline.
