Timanfaya National Park

Timanfaya National Park is located on the island of Lanzarote and features one of the most spectacular volcanic landscapes in Europe. Established in 1974, the park protects an extensive lava field and more than one hundred volcanic cones formed during the eruptions that occurred between 1730 and 1736. Its dramatic terrain, geothermal activity and striking black and red lava formations create an almost otherworldly environment that has become one of the most iconic natural sites in the Canary Islands.
