Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park

Established in 1955, Aigüestortes i Estany de Sant Maurici National Park is the only national park in Catalonia. Located in the heart of the Pyrenees, it covers 39,979 hectares across the regions of Alta Ribagorça, Pallars Sobirà, Pallars Jussà and Val d’Aran. The park is renowned for its dramatic high-mountain scenery, with more than 200 glacial lakes, winding alpine wetlands known as “aigüestortes”, and peaks rising above 3,000 metres. It is a prime destination for nature exploration and alpine landscapes.
